The Count of Monte Cristo - Alexandre Dumas
"The Count of Monte Cristo" is a literary masterpiece about waiting and hope, revenge and forgiveness. Edmond Dantès’ once happy life is destroyed by the jealousy and selfishness of others, but he persists in waiting, keeps hope alive, and improves himself. Ultimately, he meticulously plans his revenge. However, those who seek to destroy the dragon risk becoming dragons themselves; the flames of revenge inevitably hurt everyone involved. Only by choosing forgiveness can one release the obsession within their soul, achieving the highest form of revenge.
Alexandre Dumas was a French Romantic writer of the 19th century. Self-taught, he is renowned for his novels and plays, having written dozens of plays and over a hundred novels in his lifetime. Dumas’ novels are known for their intricate plots, engaging stories, vivid language, and witty dialogue, earning him the title "King of Popular Novels" from later generations. His notable works include "The Three Musketeers" and "The Count of Monte Cristo."
